3D Journal Cover: Collective Intelligence.

STORY

This project is a mock journal cover for Science magazine based on a ScienceRobotics research article on fish-inspired miniature robots that display a remarkable capability of implicit coordination and could prove to be useful for applied environmental monitoring in the future.

Schooling behavior in many fish species involves synchronized movement to evade predators or aid migration, driven by implicit communication rather than explicit signals. Recent studies reveal that miniature robots, inspired by fish behavior, can replicate complex collective behaviors in three dimensions by employing implicit communication through the emission and detection of blue light.
